The situation and requirements
The need for a versatile voucher management system with a high level of automation to optimise processes arose early at AREA 47. Beside the primary goal of selling vouchers online 24/7 as an additional source of revenue, another prerequisite was to connect the voucher administration to the existing system environment on site and unite them in a central shop solution.
Vouchers and gift cards combined: the foundation of the current online shop with individual configuration and adaptation to the website was already laid in 2011. Later the system was expanded with the gift cards module .
Partners and interfaces
Thanks to the interface to the Melzer cash registers, vouchers can be verified and validated directly at the cash terminals. But the terminals can also be used to sell, i.e. credit, gift cards. In addition, the CRM system “Salesforce” was also integrated; this enables redeeming the vouchers during online booking on the website.
