1. What do you see as the major advantages of direct voucher sales?
Chris explains: “From an economic point of view, the big added value is a higher profit margin. We work without a third-party provider who receives a commission per voucher sold. We ourselves have the power over the presentation and implementation of our vouchers and how they are presented. Through incert, our users have the opportunity to personalize our voucher templates and adapt them to any occasion. We also have direct customer contact. We can act faster if there are any questions and the users have a direct contact person at H-Hotels.”

2. What makes a good voucher store?
“A good voucher store should have various key elements that strengthen user-friendliness as well as brand loyalty. These include a simple and intuitive user interface, with clear options as to which voucher is suitable for the individual user. The design should reflect your own brand and fit seamlessly into your own online presence. As already mentioned, personalization options are an important component. We don't want an off-the-rack product all the time. So if I can personalize a gift voucher depending on the season or the person receiving the gift, this offers great added value in my eyes. Points such as fast checkout, various payment options, differentcurrencies and whether a voucher can be received or given as a gift by mail, email or as a link round off a good voucher store.”

3. What actions do you take to promote your voucher store on special occasions?
“We try to use the special events in the year when voucher sales are particularly attractive. Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Black Friday, Christmas etc. - These are the times of year when our voucher store is at its busiest. We try to reflect this special seasonal attention in our voucher store and run corresponding promotions to increase the incentive to buy a voucher. However, another great gimmick is the sending of envelopes. We launched this some time ago, giving you the opportunity to print out an envelope selected during the order process, put it together and wrap the voucher in it.”
4. How do you use the incert couponing module and what do you see as the greatest benefit for your hotels?
Chris reports: “Shortly after our voucher store redesign, our focus was on offering our users many different campaigns. Over time, we realized what works best and focused on 2-3 variants. These now rotate annually and bring us the desired turnover”

5. Are promotions that you implement with the couponing module really more profitable?
“Yes, by 1000%! We can see from the sales figures in recent years that we have multiplied the voucher store's sales mainly due to couponing. From 2022 (launch of the new voucher store in August 2022) to 2023, we were able to increase our sales in the voucher store by almost 150%. These figures speak for themselves and I believe that there is still a lot of potential in our voucher store.”

6. Black Friday week brings record results!
In the week after Black Friday 2023 (28.11. to 04.12.), the coupon code “Voucher Week Special” offered a coupon value of 20% on top. It is now interesting to take a look at sales: these have doubled compared to the same period last year!
This shows that targeted discounts can provide such a strong incentive to buy that the lower price reduction still makes the result more profitable
